Engine and machinery lab.

Following experimental devices are equipped in The Engine and Machinery Laboratory. Those are Ship Motion Simulation System, Diesel Engine Test Stands and Cold Room. Major equipment introductions are as follows.
Ship Motion Simulation System

@The Ship Motion Simulation System is the physical device which can reproduce in the laboratory the conditions encountered during really fishing activities. This device can shake the three freedoms of roll, pitch and heave. This system is currently used with Brake Unit to analyze the dynamic effects due to ship motion on fishing gears and machinery.

Diesel Engine Test Stands

There are two Diesel Engine Test Stands. Four cylinders engine with a turbo charger (160PS/2500rpm) and single cylinder engine (20PS/2200rpm) are equipped on the Test Stand, each engine are connected with Dynamometer. Four cylinders engine can be operated automatically by computer system with data acquisition. Exhaust emissions are monitored with applicable analyzers such as NOX, SOX, CO, CO2, HC, Smoke. Maine research themes are Reduction of pollutant exhaust emissions and Analysis of the engine performances affected by the fuel properties for fishing boat engines.

Cold Room

Cold Room
Cold Room
The temperature in the Cold Room is controlled by a circulating air condition unit. Room temperature can be varied in a range between 30oC and -20oC within }2oC. This Cold Room dimensions are 5000W X 4000D X 2805H. Cold start engine tests are performed by using the Cold Room.
